What does it mean to be intentional?
Being intentional is becoming your new norm. I know it doesn't appear to be so yet, but keep on looking and you will soon see it at work in your life. What does it mean to be intentional? It means doing things on purpose with a purpose, being deliberate, living a meaningful and fulfilling life, making thoughtful choices, and responding versus reacting to things.
“Be intentional because you want to do more than exist. You deserve to live life to the fullest.”
Why practice being intentional?
Intentional living forces you to practice embracing instead of expecting. It's easy to complain when things don't go the way we think or expect them to. What if you spent more time embracing these things and learning from them? Being intentional gives you a clear focus for living. You should become more intentional because you want more out of life. Because you're tired of doing things the way you've always done them and getting the same dead-end results. Because you're tired of being stuck - stuck in relationships, stuck on jobs, stuck in debt, just stuck.
How to be intentional?
Think about what's important to you. What are your passions?
Spend time thinking on things that excite you and ignite you.
Embrace imperfection
It's okay that you don't have it all together. Embrace your imperfection and know that you will never be perfect.
Declutter your life
Get rid of habits, attitudes, people, relationships that hold you back from living a purposeful life. If it doesn't add value to you, get rid of it.
Forgive
Unforgiveness can rob you of your future. Learn to forgive and do it quickly.
Get over it
You are not your past.
“Being intentional adds consistency and discipline to your life.”
